Is a large party picinc a good idea?

We found an article this time dealing with a very large picnic.  The southwest Florida island picnic party had expected to see around 16,000 in attendance which would match the attendance from last year.  With so many attendees and alcohol being present at this party picnic it can become worrisome.  Last year there were several incidents from this combination.  What are your thoughts to such a large picnic?  Would you feel safe going to this picnic?  Tell us what you think after reading all about it.
